Lincoln Day Dinner: Keynote Speaker

Dr. Charles Krauthammer

Dr. Charles Krauthammer

We are pleased to announce Dr. Charles Krauthammer as our keynote speaker for an exceptional Lincoln Day Dinner, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2014.  This is Dr. Krauthammer’s first appearance in South Florida. Take the opportunity to enjoy an evening with this truly remarkable man.

With 25 years of experience commenting on foreign policy, Dr. Krauthammer offers a unique and highly influential perspective that is not afraid to challenge conventional wisdom. Whether writing about the Middle East, the war on terror, or the return of Russia and rise of China, his views have been attracting the attention of Presidents and senior policy makers for years.

Charles Krauthammer began writing his weekly column for The Washington Post in 1985. It now appears in more than 400 newspapers worldwide. He is a contributor for Fox News and appears nightly on Fox’s evening news program, Special Report with Bret Baier. He is a contributing editor to The Weekly Standard.

His latest book, Things That Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes and Politics, is a Number 1 New York Times best seller – spending 26 weeks on the bestseller list. He has won both the Pulitzer Prize (Distinguished Commentary, 1987) for his newspaper column and the National Magazine Award (Essays and Criticism, 1984), the highest award in magazine journalism. He has been honored from every part of the political spectrum for his bold, lucid, and original writing – from the famously liberal People for the American Way (which presented him its First Amendment Award for his writing on religion) to the staunchly conservative Bradley Foundation (which awarded him its first $250,000 Bradley Prize).

Broward 2014 Lincoln Day Dinner

Broward Conventiona CenterThis year’s Broward Lincoln Day Dinner promises to be a memorable event, with a top tier keynote speaker, Dr. Charles Krauthammer, and many local, state, and national dignitaries expected to be in attendance.

LOCATION:  Broward County Convention Center at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.
PRICING:  Special pricing for seating with elected officials and other dignitaries will be announced.  Because the cost of our keynote speaker will be entirely underwritten before the event, we are able to keep other general pricing close to prior years for an extraordinary evening.
Also, this year’s planning committee has priced the event specifically to help local clubs  use the Lincoln Day as a fundraising engine.

  • General seating at Lincoln Day Dinner:  $150 per person or $1,500 for tables of 10 (See VIP pricing, below).
  • Tables for all Local Republican Clubs are discounted to $1,100 for each table of 10 for the first table; and $1,000 for each additional table purchased by the same club.
VIP RECEPTION: This reception offers you an unprecedented opportunity to personally meet with Dr. Krauthammer, elected officials, and other VIPs in attendance.  All paid guests at the VIP reception will receive a complimentary copy of Dr. Krauthammer’s best selling book, Things That Matter: Three Decades of Passions, Pastimes and Politics.  As in years past, you will have a photo opportunity with the keynote speaker.
  • VIP Pricing:  $325 per person for attendance at both the dinner and the VIP reception (includes a copy of Dr. Krauthammer’s best-selling book, Things That Matter).
  • VIP Upgrade from Club Table.  If you are attending the Lincoln Day Dinner at a table purchased by a local Republican club, the price to upgrade to attend the VIP reception, in addition to the cost of your dinner ticket, is $175.
RESERVE YOUR PLACE:  You may pay by check or credit card, online.  Go to the BREC website, http://BrowardGOP.org, for details.

Trevor Loudon will address the BREC membership at our regular June 23rd meeting.

Trevor Loudon says, “I’m a political researcher from Christchurch New Zealand. I believe in freedom with responsibility, not freedom from responsibility. My ideal society is one in which government is confined to protecting its citizens from criminals and external enemies. I believe in working with all those who are moving in broadly the same direction.”  Mr. Loudon is the founder and editor of KeyWiki.org, a rapidly growing website with the goal of unlocking the covert side of U.S. and Global politics.

Mr. Loudon is also the author of “Barack Obama and the Enemies Within,” available on Amazon.  He describes it as “a history about those who advise, mentor, and operate behind the throne of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama. From early childhood to the present day the President chose to keep his personal life a secret. Those who surround him fall into a wide category of radicals, Marxists, Communists, and Americans who have joined together in a coordinated effort to overthrow capitalism and the Republic of the United States of America.”
