The Republican Report

With the resignation of our Chair, Christine Butler, Vice Chair Bob Sutton will be the acting Chair until the election to fill the vacancy is held.  In the interim, your Board will continue to function as usual and with that we have some announcements.

First, the primary purposes of the Broward Republican Executive Committee are to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Elect to office qualified Republicans
  2. Foster loyalty to the Republican Party
  3. Promote an informed electorate through political education
  4. Increase Republican registration
  5. Seek qualified Republicans to become candidates for local, county, state, and federal offices
  6. Promote the election of Republican candidates in each General Election
  7. To uphold the principles of freedom, equality and justice on which the Republican Party and the government of this nation is founded, and as set forth in the Constitution of the United States and the State of Florida

We will continue promoting these objectives as we prepare for next year’s elections.

Second, the BREC board values the input of each and every member and believes in the right to free speech.  In an effort to create an atmosphere where every voice can be heard, the Chair will appoint a Grievance Committee under RPOF Party Rules of Procedure (Rule 22 – Settlement of Grievances) as endorsed by our legal counsel.  This will provide a venue for grievances and personal issues to be acknowledged and heard without using the short time available for BREC business at our general meetings.

Third, our next meeting will be on Monday, September 28th at Deicke Auditorium in Plantation and will feature the Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida – Blaise Ingoglia.

Fourth:  Hold the date!  On Friday, October 16th from 7:30 until 9:30 a BREC fundraiser will be held at the Doris Italian Market in Coral Springs, FL .  All announced Republican candidates are invited.  The two confirmed speakers are U.S. Senate candidate Todd Wilcox and Joshua Thifault of Turning Pont USA.   The event ticket price is $39.95 and will include a full buffet of authentic Italian cuisine, an array of artesian cheeses, sampling of over 100 wines, a $10 credit toward a wine purchase that evening, and special in-store pricing.  A separate event announcement will follow.

And finally, the election for the next Chair of BREC will be held at our regular meeting on Monday, October 26th.  Details will be announced at the September meeting.
